What's involved?

The Art of the Landscape is a project to learn more about landscape art. The project covers:

KNOWLEDGE: Learning about:
- the development of landscape art, across both time and place;
- famous landscape artists (past and present)

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: Understanding more about
- different approaches to teaching landscape art, in the studio and plein air; and
- how to improve your own landscape art.

That was EXACTLY the way I felt. I was also really disappointed to stand at one spot where he painted the cypresses and you couldn't see them for all the scrub trees which had grown up inbetween times

I did, and the feeling was somewhere between creepy and peaceful. The trees gave a deep shade, and the light was wonderful, and there were still some flowers. Sad, I guess. Very "real" Strange that we can still feel it after so many years.

So did you go to St Remy and stand in the fields where he painted when he was at the santorium? I did that in the early 90s and it was a very weird feeling!

Members are expected to be active participants - as either experienced artists, students of landscape art or people who teach landscape art.
Initially membership is limited to invitation only until a nucleus of known/active members are established.

Where to start
More functionality (eg image library/videos/events/groups) will be added as the community is developed
Art of the Landscape was created by Katherine Tyrrell who moderates membership .
